Dr. Vincent Arpino is a graduate from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a degree in Biology and went on to receive his D.D.S. and orthodontic specialty degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he also received a Master’s degree.  He started practicing in Libertyville in 1996 where he succeeded long time practicing orthodontist Dr. William Newell who retired.  And it was in 2002, that he moved his practice into its current location by merging and combining forces with neighboring orthodontist Dr. John Wollney.

Dr. Arpino is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, Lake County Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society, and numerous study clubs.  He is Invisalign trained and certified.  He is currently president and executive director of the Orthodontic Alumni Association of Illinois.

It is Dr. Arpino’s goal and objective to give patients the highest quality of care.  He believes in customizing treatment to each individual’s needs.  Although Dr. Arpino believes in early treatment when necessary, he prefers to time treatment so that patients do not need to wear their appliances longer than necessary.  Dr. Arpino respects his patient’s time and almost never keeps his patients waiting.

When not in the office, Dr. Arpino, his wife Tina and son Vincent can be seen out and about in Libertyville.  You may see him driving his 1974 Corvette (which has been in the family for almost 30 years) to his son’s Little League baseball games.

At what age can people have orthodontic treatment?

Children and adults can both benefit from orthodontics, because healthy teeth can be moved at almost any age. Because monitoring growth and development is crucial to managing some orthodontic problems well, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends that all children have an orthodontic screening no later than age 7. Some orthodontic problems may be easier to correct if treated early. Waiting until all the permanent teeth have come in, or until facial growth is nearly complete, may make correction of some problems more difficult.
